Late in the morning October the 12th some of us that already have a hip resurfacing and two other persons held a meeting. Apart from my presentation with some more technical/medical details and the showing of real hip prostheses we exchanged experiences and discussed important points that we should be aware of pre-and post-operative. After lunch and more discussions we parted again a little after 15:00 o’clock.

The afternoon and evening Sunday 08-11-2013 about 40 members of the Nordenshippies support group, Dr. Raimund Völker and other interested met. The meeting was held in the Park inn hotel in Solna, from 15.00 to 21.00. The posibility to meet Dr. Völker for a private consultation in the afternoon and the next day was followed up by 15 people.   The weekend of 5-6 May the participants in the Nordenshippies group and other interested will meet somewhere in Stockholm for two informal meetings. An invited orthopaedic surgeon will give a lecture on ”hip resurfacing” and will even offer short private consultations to those needing one (this shall be indicated ahead with the application). A physiotherapist present can give answers and offer advise with respect to exercises and physical problems.
